Stolen Feathers

This year it’s all about the boyfriend…boyfriend jeans, boyfriend sweater…boyfriend fascinator??? Well, sort of. This little feather hat borrows its detail from the feathers you might see tucked into a man’s hatband. The rest is all girl, of course, from the whisper-soft tan feathers to the vintage silk French veiling to the tiny aqua rhinestone. Shown hereworn two different ways, both stunning, and both charming on women of all ages.

Simply Lovely

simply_lovelySome occasions — say, a trip down the red carpet — call for less whimsy and more vogue. This architectural sweep of dotted netting on a ribbon-wrapped comb makes just the right statment. Both the netting and the ribbon can be matched to your dress in anything from barely-there vintage coffee to fire-engine red with sassy chenille dots.  A very nice choice for the mother of the bride (or mother of the  groom — let’s not forget her!) or for bridesmaids.

Making an Entrance 101

Admit it — you know he’s going to be there. Walk into the party fashionably late (emphasis on fashionably) and every head will turn. Especially his. This extravagant fascinator has just enough flutter to catch anyone’s eye. You probably should start practicing right now, because you’ll need to ignore the whispers of “who is THAT?”. The silk veil and button are vintage, but this one’s all about the feathers.

Year of the Fascinator

Happy Chinese New Year! On the off chance your cherry blossom blouse is at the cleaners, this orchid fascinator in shades of red, burgundy and black would be fabulous with something simpler. That smokin’ black dress of yours will never know what hit it.

Gay Divorcee

This design was born when a friend (NOT the blissfully married model!) decided to mark her divorce with a party celebrating the next phase in her life. Like her, it’s sleek, sophisticated and ready for some fun. Why should brides get all the cool headpieces?

Shown here with a one-of-a-kind vintage brooch; most will use a retro rhinestone button.
