Dotty

**NEW DESIGN**   Where are you going with that flower in your hair, girl? Salsa dancing? Wedding on the beach? Outdoor concert? Wherever you go, eyes will follow.

A comment on this site suggested that we make a patterned flower. Why not? This one is black chiffon with white and metallic gold dots, with a beaded center detail–light and sheer for summertime, with just a speck of glitz for evening. As always, it comes with a hair clip and a brooch pin.  When you wear it, you’ll appreciate our trick of making these flowers with the bottom layer curved to hug your head…or shoulder, or wherever you might pin a thing of such beauty.

Bachelor’s Button headband

Time was, a young man would place a blue cornflower in his lapel to indicate that he was unmarried. Hence, the name bachelor’s button. Who’s to say a girl can’t send a subtle message of her own? Nowadays, the cornflower stands for hope in love.

The pale green headband gives this fascinator the feel of summertime, and sets off the royal blue flower and feathers. A little touch of crystal to takes things up a notch.  You may buy it to go with your prom or bridesmaid dress, but we guarantee you’ll be pairing it with sundresses and cutoffs all summer long.

Let us know if you’d prefer a headband of a different color.

Peggy Goes to Town

“Good-bye, Mama! Don’t wait up.”  And she’s off , careful not to turn around because she knows the rhinestones on the sheer brim of her hat take things in a whole other, decidedly less prim, direction. Because even a good girl needs to have an adventure now and then.

Shown here in black satin and horsehair, the hat is right in step with a retro bridesmaid look.  Inquire about other colors.

Summertime

Ah, those languid days by the water…she thinks there might be somewhere she’s supposed to be, or something she should be doing, but really, how important could it be? All that matters is the sun, the lake, and how incredibly hot she looks.  Her fascinator is made of grassy green feathers and paper flowers with a sweet vintage feel. Tucked into the most casual of ‘dos, it turns the simplest sundress into an ensemble that could go straight to dinner and dancing. Or just sit right here. Mmmmmm…………

As shown:$20

On a headband with 3 flowers: $25

Tickle Me

Sure, this glossy black hat is sophisticated, but that doesn’t mean a girl can’t get her giggle on when she wears it. And when she does, wherever she goes, the party follows. All she needs is a martini (or a martini glass) to round out the look.

A hat that won’t be accused of age discrimination, this one’s as appropriate for the mother of the bride as it is for a bridesmaid. A comb keeps it secure, no matter how hard you laugh.

Onion, Jr.

dsc_0265A mini version of Onion Top. It’s kind of punky with the frayed onion-bag netting; a version with millinery netting could be more refined, if you prefer. This one comes on a small barrette, perfect to pop into your ‘do wherever it looks best. Works great with jeans… shown here with a bridesmaid’s dress. What would you pair it with? What wouldn’t you?

California Poppies

California Poppies_2

She: “I’ll meet you at the station.”

He: “How will I recognize you?”

She: “Oh…you’ll spot me.”

If you’ve been thinking you need to dress up to wear a fancy hair ornament, think again. This whimsical headband has crystal-centered paper flowers set off by rusty brown feathers. It works with everything from jeans to a prom dress. Oh, he’ll spot you.
