About
Fascinators are feathered, glamorous hair ornaments. They are a great way to update the little black dress or make a major statement, and they’re suddenly everywhere from clubs to proms to weddings.
I’d seen fascinastors in Europe, but my first exposure to them in the U.S. was when a friend who was about to be married handed me a box of feathers, lace and netting and asked “do you know how to make a fascinator?” “Um…sure” I replied, and it turned out to be true.

The result is pictured here. If you take a good look at the photo, you’ll see there’s nothing traditionally “bridal” about the fascinator. There’s no tulle, and the only lace is royal blue — the colors were chosen to match the groom’s kilt — yet there’s no doubt that you’re looking at a bride.
And so it began. I became mesmerized by this charming form of headwear and its ability to transform an outfit.
The styles and colors you see here are only the tip of the iceberg. They can serve as a launching pad, as in “I want something like Gay Divorcee, but with a peacock feather” or “I’d like a flower like the one on Onion Top, but no netting.”
I’m happy to do custom colors and styles to suit any outfit. If you want to match a prom or bridesmaid’s dress, please allow at least two weeks extra time.
For a bridal fascinator, consider incorporating your “something old” into the design — a family brooch, perhaps, or your grandmother’s lace hanky. Though it is not possible to guarantee that fragile items won’t tear or snag, you have our promise that they’ll be handled with the respect and care they deserve. Please plan ahead, and contact us in plenty of time (6 weeks minimum) to arrange for this service.
